Does The Boat House Lodge have Wi-Fi?
Yes. Wi-Fi is available. Please note that Wroxeter is a rural location so there may be times when it’s slower than usual.
Are pets welcome?
The Boat House Lodge is dog-friendly. There are lots of fantastic places for dog walking near to us. (Check out our Things to Do guide.) There’s space for a crate in the Lodge and we’ll provide a few doggy treats too.
All we ask is that soft furnishings are kept for people not pets, and that you clean up any ‘accidents’.
Is The Boat House Lodge accessible?
Unfortunately The Boat House Lodge isn’t suitable for people with mobility issues, as it’s accessible via steps outside.
How far is the local pub?
The local pub, The Horseshoes Country Pub & Grill, serves food and is within walking distance of the Lodge (1.3 miles away – about a 25 minute walk). Dogs are welcome in the bar area.
Is there a hot tub?
No, there isn’t a hot tub at present.
Do I need a car?
It depends on how much you want to explore the area. There’s a bus service from Wroxeter to Shrewsbury and Ironbridge, but the buses are infrequent.
If you plan to do lots of exploring, we recommend you have a car.
Where can I park my car?
Parking is off road and at the property. Our grounds are gated. We’ll buzz you in on arrival and then you’ll have a key fob for the gate so you can come and go as you please. We also have an Electric Vehicle charger if you need it.
Is there a place to store my bike?
Yes. There’s a secure shed where you can store your bike.
We hope you won’t need it, but we’ll have puncture repairs kits if you do.
I want a relaxing stay, but I also want the option of some activities. What’s close by to the Lodge?
You can do as much or as little as you want. Check out our Things to Do page which has plenty of suggestions.
Do I need to bring towels or bedding?
No, we’ve got that covered. Our towels are nice and fluffy. The bed is super king and our bedding is smooth and silky 300 thread count, 100% cotton so that you get a great night’s sleep.
Should I bring toiletries?
Shower gel, soap, shampoo and conditioner will be provided during your stay. We choose toiletries from artisan and sustainable producers.
If you suffer from sensitive skin or allergies, we recommend you bring your own.
What’s in the welcome hamper?
We like to keep this secret so it’s a surprise for when you arrive. We also choose products depending on the season and what we recommend at the time.
I’m going on holiday to have a break and some peace of quiet. Is The Boat House Lodge close to other holiday properties?
No. The Lodge is a standalone property and the only holiday property on the grounds.
The Boat House is our house on the grounds. We’re close enough to help and be available if you need us, but we’ll respect your privacy and leave you alone to relax.
I want to go on a fishing trip. Can I fish in the River Severn at the bottom of your garden?
Yes. Complimentary membership is available.
I’d like to do some cooking while I’m on holiday. What’s in the kitchen?
The kitchen has an oven and microwave. The kitchen is well equipped with chopping boards, knives, vegetable peeler wooden spoons and roasting tins.
We know how nice it is to enjoy a glass of fizz or real ale on holiday, so you’ll find flutes and tall ale glasses in the kitchen.
Is there an iron and ironing board available?
Yes.
I’m a keen walker. Where can I keep my wet and muddy clothes if the weather is bad?
There’s a laundry room in the garage beneath the Lodge. There’s a washing machine and tumble dryer so you don’t have to take dirty or muddy clothes inside.
If you’ve been dog walking, there’s also a shower head and complimentary dog towels so you can wash your dog too.
